The Daily Energy Routine (DER)

A few years ago, I had the opportunity to work with a very gifted practitioner who would assign me homework for our in-between sessions.
One of those assignments was The Daily Energy Routine or D.E.R. for short, created by Donna Eden and taught by Prune Harris.
I have been doing the Daily Energy Routine every day (sometimes more) for the past two years and I don’t plan on stopping it, at least in this lifetime!
Who is Donna Eden?
Donna Eden is a widely known teacher and pioneer in Energy Medicine and is the Founder of Eden Energy Medicine
Her work grew from her ability to sense and see the body’s energies at a very young age, which led her to develop simple, practical techniques for supporting balance, vitality, and well-being.
Through her teachings, books, and trainings, she has introduced these methods to people around the world.
I can truthfully say, I have never seen Donna Eden without a smile on her face. She always seems to be radiating with vitality and well-being and carries a very curious and contagious energy!
Who is Prune Harris?
Prune Harris is an energy medicine teacher and author whose journey began with a lifelong sensitivity to energy.
Over the years, she developed her own way of teaching energy awareness and healing, while also drawing from and acknowledging influences from teachers such as Donna Eden.
Her work shares common ground with Eden Energy Medicine, while expressing it through her own perspective and approach.
Both Donna Eden and Prune Harris work with the body’s energy meridians as part of their approach to supporting balance and well-being.

What Are Energy Meridians?

Energy meridians are fascinating learn about! In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), are understood as intelligent pathways of life force within the body.
In many healing traditions, they are seen as part of the subtle energetic architecture that supports vitality, emotional flow, inner balance, and the body’s natural capacity to restore itself.
You will notice when these pathways are flowing well as people often experience:
- more vitality
- greater emotional steadiness
- deeper embodiment
- less inner friction or stagnation
- a stronger sense of clarity, grounding, and resilience
When the energy feels blocked, depleted, or scrambled, it can show up as:
- fatigue
- emotional heaviness
- tension
- scattered thinking
- feeling disconnected from yourself
Practices that work with the meridians are often used to help:
- wake up the body’s energy
- clear stagnation
- create a smoother internal flow
- strengthen presence and stability
- support harmony between body, mind, and spirit
DER Benefits: In My Own Words

When I finish the Daily Energy Routine, I am always left with a sense of peace and deep wellbeing that washes over me.
In fact, It feels like what was once closed has been re-opened allowing my energy to flow more freely again with less restriction, leaving me feeling more embodied and less scattered.
I also feel a greater sense of ease which has benefited my relationships both personally and professionally.
By consistently working with my meridians, I find sustained and enhanced stability in my energy, creating more resilience when any challenges are thrown my way! That sounds like something we all could benefit from!
